Craig Champlin is a doctoral candidate in Electrical Engineering in the Information Systems Sciences focus area at the Colorado School of Mines, Golden Colorado USA. His research focus is on developing low-cost, high-precision inspection techniques for pipelines. He holds a B.ME with three minors in materials science from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia USA. He also holds a M.Sc in Computer Science with a distributed sensing emphasis from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden Colorado USA.

He has been in the pipeline industry since 2002 when he joined American Innovationsʼ (formerly Bass Trigon) to manage their risk modeling software
